AdMentor PRO Version 6 is coming

One year ago I didn’t see the need at all for a new major AdMentor release at all. Lets just say that the last six months I have been working really hard on my other web properties besides aspcode.net and I can tell you that trying to make any money (though affiliate networks) from it has really made me look at advertising, or should I say tracking of advertising in a completely different way.

AdMentor is good, it’s a good and to some extent advanced ad rotator, but I needed more. More specifically I needed to be able to dig out more about people clicking on the ads. Where did they originally come from? AdMentor 5 could only show page, zone and ad position where a banner was clicked on, but I wanted to see how that visitor came to our site. And that meant I needed to add some extra tracking, cause the visitor might have gone from google -> mysite/page1.aspx -> mysite/page2.aspx and click on an ad there. The Google part is of course of interest here.

Cause very much I have found that its important to try to see patterns – not just guessing that banner ”a” might be good to show in ad position “b”. The original referer information is also such valuable information, I mean if I see that people coming from MSN searching for  specific keyword tend to click on a lot of ads, it might be a good idea to try to optimize your site even more against that keyword – or even buy MSN Adcenter ads.

Anyway: enhanced click tracking is of course good to have – but the only thing that puts money in your pocket is sales. And I have implemented conversion tracking into AdMentor as well. Meaning all the information you can dig out for a click can also be analyzed for visitors converting for you! In short I have implemented SUBID (SID) tracking (somewhat standard feature available at all major affiliate networks such as cj.com etc ), tying sales to AdMentor clicks.
